I haven’t smoked a cigar since 1983.
So, imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon some research touting the mental benefits of cigars. (in fairness this came from a video I saw on the internet, but the internet wouldn’t lie would it?) Naturally, I was drawn into buying one today in celebration of my oldest daughter’s birthday.
I was determined not to splurge more than $10 because, let’s be honest, my cheapstake tendencies are deeply ingrained. But fate and poor store price labeling had other plans for my wallet, and I unknowingly surpassed my budget. Yet, I have no regrets because, friends, this Rocky Patel A10 with its eye-catching barber pole wrap is a game-changer. Sure, the burn might be slightly uneven, but if you take it slow, it will stack well.
Kiss those acrid aftertastes from flavored pipe tobacco blends goodbye because this stick is smooth. It took a pleasant 30 minutes to burn halfway, and oh, that taste! There’s a delightful pepperiness that made me crave a juicy, rare steak to accompany it.
While I must admit my heart beats for Old Grandad 114, I believe this cigar would you do justice with an Irish Whiskey or perhaps a Guinness.
